I can't connect to my server

Work through this checklist before contacting support.


Most connection issues are: server not running, DNS not live, or wrong address copied.




1. Is the server running?


Open the server in your dashboard. Status must be running.


  • Starting / Provisioning — wait. First start can take 5–15+ minutes.
  • Stopped — click Start first.

2. Is DNS live?


On the server details page, check for DNS live (not "DNS pending").


  • DNS pending → wait 5–15 minutes. See Why does my address say DNS pending?




3. Are you using the correct address?


Use the full hostname from the dashboard:


yourserver-a8f3.warp.cool


Do not omit the suffix or use an old IP address.




4. Game-specific checks


Minecraft


  • Use Java Edition (PC/Mac/Linux), not Bedrock — unless you installed GeyserMC
  • Minecraft version should match the server version
  • "Connection refused" often means the server is still starting — wait 2–3 more minutes


Factorio


  • Game version should match the server
  • Check if a password is required in server config




5. Firewall / network


  • Try from a different network (mobile hotspot) to rule out local firewall issues
  • Make sure friends are not blocking outbound connections on the game port
