Can Bedrock players join my Minecraft server?
By default, Warp.cool runs Minecraft Java Edition servers. Bedrock players (mobile, console, Windows 10/11 Bedrock) cannot join directly.
Solution: GeyserMC (+ Floodgate)
Install GeyserMC on a Paper server to bridge Bedrock clients to your Java server.
Plugin | Purpose |
|---|---|
GeyserMC | Lets Bedrock players connect to a Java server |
Floodgate | Lets Bedrock players join without a Java/Mojang account |
Both can be selected when creating a Paper server or added in Server → Config.
Setup steps
- Create (or reconfigure) a Paper server.
- Enable GeyserMC plugin.
- Optionally enable Floodgate if your Bedrock friends don't own Java Edition.
- Click Start and wait for running status.
- Bedrock players connect using the same
yourserver.warp.cooladdress — Geyser handles the translation.
Limitations
- Some Java mods/plugins may not work perfectly for Bedrock players
- Bedrock and Java players see mostly the same world, but minor compatibility gaps exist
- More players across both editions may need a larger plan
Java players
PC/Mac/Linux players with Java Edition connect normally — no Geyser needed on their side.
